Beautiful color
Pretty color and displays color change in different lighting. I love the cupcake polishes I’ve ordered so far. They stay on without chipping for days at a time, and I love the color changes. Great polishes!
This shade is absolutely gorgeous, I'm wearing it right now 😍
This was my first time trying Cupcake Polish and I picked out four different colors, one being Reverie. The application was nice and it went on smoothly with no issues. I absolutely love the color shift going on with this one! From soft green to a peach pink and flashes of red - it is stunning!! I’m excited to try the other colors but I don’t want to take this one off!
So I found myself at the CP website during a nail polish hyper-fixation; I'd just gotten my first ever "online nail polish order" (I've *only* ever purchased a nail polish that I could sample first ever since I was a much younger lady) from ILNP and despite thinking all 5 polishes I'd ordered from them were beautiful in design and color, I've been disappointed with how difficult I find them to apply for me. (it's 95% gotta be due to user error, but still ... I was hoping my new polishes would build my Polish Applying Confidence because I cannot afford to go back to my salon days )
Anyway, instead of spending HOURS trying to select the right polishes from Cupcake (since this time I was not looking to "match a shade I was looking for) I went ahead and got 5 very different colors, including this one. I'm supposedly a Neutral skin tone which means a lot of polishes "should" look okay on me, so I absolutely just went with my gut and got 5 that Wow'd me right off. And Reverie did ....
And it's a creme polish? That should have meant it was impossible for me to apply and think it looks good. I must have really thrown caution to the wind when I went ahead and ordered this one (simply because I wanted a Sage Green polish), because despite my adoring the look of a creme polish overall I simply cannot work it out when applying without it looking ghastly. lol
But Reverie is fabulous. Besides all of the colors being offered from Cupcake just looking amazing at the least, at their best they truly go on easily. This polish specifically has a great softness to the Sage color, and I love that. It doesn't lean too green and it's perfectly complimented by the rose tones --- which ALSO all look good together when you're INSIDE. (I've yet to see a holographic NP that doesn't look blazing good in the sun, but I truly do care bout how it looks when I'm sitting here on the couch as well...)
As for my title "It depends on your preference, but ..." ---
I am sorta thinking now that maybe it doesn't apply like the creme that some people might want it to?? Maybe that's why it works okay for No Skillz Gretchen??
So maybe if you are looking for something that pulls of a bit more creamy looking, you might not be thrilled. Except, you WILL ... because the color is great and that's why you're selecting it, right? Right. It's good, you'll like it.
One last thing I've made note of about the polishes I've gotten so far: 4 out of the 5 I purchased I actually prefer with only 1 coat of polish; that might have something to do with the fact that my nails and skin are in horrible condition after 7 years of not being able to wear polish and working in healthcare (helloooooo Covid AND regular hand sanitizing protocols )... and the more coats I apply of anything the more icky it looks on me (again, User Error my friends)
But honestly, the one coat thing is pretty awesome to me .. it means I like the polish alone as it is, but it also gives me room to color-combine some polishes (which I tried for the first time ever while I've been trying to salvage my ILNP polishes) (I ordered one jelly from here [Coawabunga] that is too light with one coat, but honestly, a better nail-polish-applicator-person could probably do one coat and have it look fabulous for them ... and in general I suspect most other humans will apply more than one coat of all these polishes and be very happy for it)
I needed to write at least one long review on one of these polishes, and I chose this one just because I was shocked that the creme polish turned out to be A-Okay with me. :-)
Since it feels like I'll run out of room soon, I'm gonna get back to picking out polishes for my 2nd order.
And sorry for not doing pictures to upload; I'm a perfectionist and cannot do the polish a disservice my showing in on my stubby ill-kept "nails" -- it would not likely be a selling-point for a considering consumer.
Just know that I'm excited to have found this Cupcake polish brand, because with these polishes I'll be able to keep my nails painted easily all of the time which means soon you won't be able to tell I ever lived in hand sanitizer 24/7 . Yay!
